According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, a teen driver is involved in a crash in our state every 28 minutes.
WAPA is proud of the work that its partners are doing to encourage safer driving for teens across Wisconsin.
To help teens understand the risks they face when driving, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation partners with other organizations to sponsor the MSG 2 TEENS Driving Safety Contest, which challenges teenagers in southwest Wisconsin to create impactful commercials that will resonate with their peers.
This year’s winning commercial was created by a team of students from Luther Preparatory School in Watertown.
Another WAPA partner, the Wisconsin Transportation Builders Association, offers a free online Work Zone Safe Wisconsin course as part of their driver’s education program. More than 2,500 people have successfully completed the course since its launch in April 2024.
WTBA also awards a student who completed the course with a $500 scholarship check, sponsored by Wisconsin County Highway Association.
Thank you to all of these organizations that are working hard to make Wisconsin’s roads safer for all users!
