A project manager uses technical expertise and practical problem solving in many aspects of road building.

Project managers estimate initial project costs and timeline, and oversee the operations and management throughout the course of the project.

They are also the paving company’s main contact with the state, county or city road agency.

Education requirements
Bachelors degree (bachelors of science in civil engineering preferred)

Good public relations (for presenting projects at public meetings)
Professional licensure preferred
