2020 WAPA Scholarship Application

The Wisconsin Asphalt Pavement Association is pleased to announce that it will award at least two student scholarships in 2020.

One Engineering Scholarship will be awarded in the amount of $2,000.

• The award is open to undergraduates and graduate students studying civil engineering or construction engineering enrolled at an accredited Wisconsin university or Michigan Technological University as of fall 2020.
• Preference will be given to those applicants who intend to pursue a career in the transportation construction industry.
• Special consideration will be given to Wisconsin residents with sophomore or junior status as of the 2020-2021 academic year.

One Engineering Technician Scholarship will be awarded in the amount of $1,000.

• The award is open to engineering technology students enrolled at a Wisconsin technical college as of fall 2020.
• Preference will be given to those applicants who intend to pursue a career in the transportation construction industry.

The application consists of two parts: (1) an online form submitted here and (2) support documents submitted separately.

IMPORTANT: ALL PARTS OF THE SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION MUST BE RECEIVED BY WAPA BY THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 5 AT 5:00 P.M. CENTRAL TIME.

1. Online Form

Use this form to apply for either the Engineering Scholarship or the Engineering Technician Scholarship.

2. Support Documents

The following support materials are required.

• Two letters of recommendation. One must be from a college faculty member familiar with your academic achievement. The second may be from either another faculty member or from an asphalt contractor or technologist with whom you have work experience.
• Official school transcripts indicating your course grades and current GPA.
