Aribos Sealcoat Manufacturing is based in Madison, Wisconsin. Aribos is the only licensed Pitch Black® asphalt emulsion sealcoat manufacturer in the state of Wisconsin. Our facility not only provides a quality non-toxic asphalt emulsion, but we also have pavement maintenance tools, products and equipment. Aribos is a distributor for Maintenance Inc., Titan Tools and Little Wonder, making our plant a one-stop-shop for all pavement needs. We have a passion for the industry and are no strangers to the magic of the Pitch Black® sealcoat formula.

We've had impressive customer growth and reviews:

"Pitch Black® is the blackest, purest, best product on the market and Aribos knows how to produce it." - Jim Hellenbrand | All Size Black Top Service

"Keep doing what you're doing, we couldn't be more pleased with this product, everyone raves about it." - Darren & Desiree Shlafer | Shlafer Sealcoating

"I can't believe how many compliments I get after completing a job, property managers and homeowners tell me they've never been happier with deciding to go with Pitch Black®." - Matt Harrison | Matt Harrison Sealcoating

Aribos takes pride in providing an eco-friendly product that has ZERO toxic chemicals, solvents or petroleum distillates but also lasts longer than other options on the market. Pitch Black ® is not only safe for consumers and contractors, but is also a tested, high-quality formula that contractors are eager to use. After years of experience, we know how to keep the formula consistent and available to customers when they need it. We offer it via pick-up or delivery.

In the 2018 season we will be introducing a new product to the market per customer request called Pitch Black® Obsidian Sealcoat. Obsidian Sealcoat is the same quality Pitch Black® formula without the sand and aggregates. This will benefit the contractors with smaller tanks without agitation on their equipment.

At a time when coal tar is banned at many local and county levels in Wisconsin, it only made sense for us to stick with what we knew works: Pitch Black®. It isn't about luck or timing. It's about making a product we believe in and striving for customers that appreciate quality. We've joined the sealcoat revolution and challenge our current and future customers to do the same. We support a #CoalTarFreeAmerica. #JoinTheSealcoatRevolution #GoPitchBlack

Engineered Additives is a proven technology provider for the asphalt plant, contractor and terminal operator. We committed to lead the asphalt marketplace into performance-based green rejuvenation in 2007, well before the idea of High RAP mixes became popular. We brought High RAP and RAS with true Warm-mix to Wisconsin in 2012.

Engineered Additives has continued to provide high RAP/RAS rejuvenation with green chemistry throughout the United States, Canada and overseas for more than 10 years, in each case, meeting or exceeding new performance standards and with far better compaction, all in a single dose. We understand the challenges of working with RAP and RAS, and we have repeatedly demonstrated our knowledge and experience by our many successes.

Our newly released, fast-acting low-odor asphalt cross-linker dramatically reduces PMA batch time and can effectively increase your production capacity without investment, while reducing the risk of over-reaction or gelling. Husky Energy is one of Canada's largest integrated energy companies with operations in western and Atlantic Canada, the United States and the Asia Pacific region. These operations include
exploration, refining, pipelines and retail distribution. Husky Asphalt is an industry leader in customer focused product research, innovation and dedication to service and value, which has made Husky a trusted name in Asphalt in North America for 80 years.

Husky's Asphalt business began with the re-opening of the shuttered Park Refinery in Cody, Wyoming in 1938. The company was founded on the drive and innovative thinking to pave the ever-expanding North American highway system. By 1952, The Husky Oil Company had achieved production in seven states and Canada, with refineries producing gasoline and the most versatile paving material: asphalt.

Today, Husky Asphalt is best known for our holistic "Asphalt First" approach to asphalt research, innovation, production and distribution with the ultimate goal of building better roads. It starts with sourcing top-grade heavy crude oil uniquely suited for the production of high-quality asphalt. This is processed at our specialized refining facilities into different asphalt products, some with additives to enhance and modify performance characteristics. Technical expertise and innovation originates at our two accredited laboratory facilities (ISO, AASHTO) and at our dedicated bituminous research chair at the University of Calgary. Additionally, to ensure the success of your project, we follow through with on-time delivery via our efficient transportation network and in-field technical support, as required.

It all adds up to pavement that stands the test of time and a customer service commitment from the ground up.

Husky Asphalt continues to expand into the United States with the acquisition of the Superior Refinery in Wisconsin in the fall of 2017. This increases our ability to process quality crude oil and deliver exceptional service, technical expertise and high quality asphalt products to customers across North America.

We look forward to serving our current and new customers in Wisconsin and the Upper Midwest. For your next successful paving project, please find us at www.huskyroadsolutions.com.

In November 2018, Rock Road participated in a trial project in preparation for upcoming Illinois State Tollway Highway Authority (ISTHA) work on l-88. The trial investigated dry rubber technology (Eiastiko 100 Dry Crumb Rubber/OCR) and rejuvenation processes along with conventional high polymer modified SMA mixes.

In conjunction with temporary HMA work on the IH-39 corridor south of Janesville, Rock Road and WisDOT agreed to place three test sections of HMA that aligned with the details above for future evaluation. Per WisDOT, this was the first offer to place a rubber HMA in Wisconsin, though likely not the last given the upcoming Wisconsin Highway Research Program (WHRP) study let during winter 2017/2018. In 2015 WisDOT participated in an ISTHA project that used dry processed rubber in a Wisconsin mix design. Per the WHRP proposal, this mix is still performing well to this day.

A summary of the three mixes Rock Road placed is outlined below, and performance testing was completed on all sections. The dry rubber used is shown at right.  Rock Road and WisDOT look
forward to evaluating the performance of the test sections during the 2018 construction season with the goal of establishing dry rubber as a viable option in lieu of polymer modification while optimizing recycle options.

1. Conventional SMA
  • SBS modified binder

  • Standard ABR (28-30%)
2. Dry Crumb Rubber SMA

TDA and the Minnesota Transportation Alliance have planned a joint Fly-in. It is really a merging of the best of the two state events. This is a great opportunity to try something new and meet transportation advocates from a neighboring state.

With the transportation debate heating up in D.C., May will be the perfect time to go educate the Wisconsin delegation about the needs back home.

Don't wait to make your plans! Hotel space is limited.
