STUDENT OPPORTUNITIES
WAPA recognizes that today’s students are tomorrow’s asphalt pavement contractors, builders, owners and researchers. WAPA encourages student involvement in the field of hot mix asphalt in a variety ways.
WAPA Scholarships
To support the next generation of engineers who will design and build our state’s asphalt pavements, WAPA awards six scholarships annually to juniors and seniors at higher education institutions in the region. Read more about the WAPA Scholarship Program or see a list of Past Winners.
Asphalt Design Competition

design competition.
WAPA sponsors an asphalt design competition among student teams from regional universities. The purpose of the competition is to introduce students to the different aspects of HMA design, including mix design, pavement structure design and project management engineering.
